Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of our most frequently asked questions.
Where will my makeup and hair be done?
You will normally take your Marriage Certificate home with you. In the event of a delay at the Town Hall, your Marriage Certificate will be sent onto you by Recorded Delivery postage. As your Marriage Certificate will be issued to you in Greek, we can arrange the translation for you, which should also be ready for you to fly home with.
What happens when we arrive in Kos?
Once you have arrived in Kos and settled into your accommodation, our wedding planner will meet with you at your hotel the next morning. Your documents will be lodged with the Registrar at the Town Hall by our Wedding Planner. Our Wedding Planner will be on hand during your stay here in Kos to ensure that your wedding day goes like clockwork. We will run through the final details of your wedding day and there will be ample opportunity to add any further extras that you may need.
Will our wedding be legally recognized in the UK?
All of our weddings are carried out in line with British law and are registered in Greece. Just like the UK, your wedding certificate is proof you are legally married. On your return to the UK, you can lodge your marriage certificate with the General Register Office in Southport. Their number is 0151 471 4803.
What legal documents will we need?
Once you have booked your wedding with Your Greek Island Wedding, you will be issued with a ‘checklist’ of documents that you need and how to go about gathering them. All addresses, websites and telephone numbers are provided to make the experience as simple as possible.
